Abebe Headband

$8.50

Our Abebe print is inspired by ankara, a pattern and fabric style common in various parts of Africa. Ankara is seen in celebration wear, everyday wear, accessories, furniture and, more recently, fashion runways across the world. This style of fabric is known for its bright, vibrant colors and unique repeat patterns. The patterns have different cultural meanings, conveying messages to those who are gifted the fabric or see someone wearing it at an event. I’ve always loved the way I feel when wearing ankara - joyful, beautiful and connected to a greater community. Kids should feel these things too, so our ankara-inspired prints bring a traditional fabric style to comfortable kids’ clothing. I've named this print Abebe which means "fan" in Yoruba, a language spoken in Nigeria, because the design reminds me of beautiful handheld fans.

A pretty accessory to add some vibrant color to any outfit, our organic cotton headband stays on without being tight. It’s comfortable, soft and safe for baby’s skin. Pairs perfectly with our other styles.

  • Super soft and lightweight 100% organic cotton

  • One size for 0-12M and one size for 1-5T

  • Machine washable for easy care

Colors may vary slightly from how they appear on a computer/smartphone screen.

Due to the nature of fabrics and print processes, this print may or may not be the exact same shade, hue, or tone of a previous release of this same print.
