I am Zandra Azariah Cunningham, a 19-year-old entrepreneur from Buffalo, NY. My fascination with entrepreneurship began when I was 9 years old. It was totally a result of my dad's refusal to buy my beloved lip balm. His "NO" forced me to do the work and make my own. With the assistance of my family, my newfound appreciation for entrepreneurship and focus, I started my business, Azariah’s Innocence, a few days shy of my 10th birthday. My first products, lip balms, and whipped Shea body butter were sold at local farmer’s markets in the summer of 2010. I started with lip balms and body butter because these were products that I frequently used myself.
The problem was most of the products I got at the mall would leave me dry, itchy and unhappy. I made it my mission to make products that smelled good and kept my skin soft without irritating it. I wanted to give girls a natural alternative to all those commercial products with yucky unhealthy ingredients.
Today you have Zandra, natural bath + body for the educated + empowered girl on the move! I believe that young ladies should be confident in their own skin and learn what beauty is from the inside out. My hope is to inspire youth to take action and make things happen for themselves and their communities. I aspire to create natural products that promote healthy skin care regimens and motivate you daily.
